Wow, can you believe it’s the end of September already?? And what a wonderful summer September has been! Here at RAS Creative, we’re looking forward to watching the fall’s new television shows, watching the leaves change colour, and watching our clients do what they do best. Here is some of their latest news…

Congratulations to Eagle & Hawk for bringing home hardware from the Western Canadian Music Awards. The group won Aboriginal Recording of the Year for their album Siren Song. I was very honoured to accept a star blanket on their behalf during the Aboriginal Nominee Honouring Ceremony – guess that means I’ve got to turn the blanket over to you, hey Vince?? (

Jaylene Johnson performed a music festival showcase at the WCMA’s in Brandon, and Sheena Grobb attended as a conference delegate. These two talented women just returned from touring together in Eastern Canada. ( (

The feature film High Life screened at Toronto International Film Festival to much acclaim. Clips from the production interviews with the cast and crew are now online for viewing at the NSI Canada website. RAS Creative is proud to have conducted most of these behind-the-scenes interviews! (

Conference panelist… RoseAnna Schick of RAS Creative was happy to be selected as a panelist for the Western Canadian Music Awards delegate conference. She participated on a panel about networking titled First Contact: What Works? What Doesn’t? She also had the pleasure of reconnecting with some old friends and colleagues, meeting a bunch of new people, and seeing some entertaining and inspiring live performances during the festival. (

Music and film workshops… RoseAnna will be moderating two workshops for film and music professionals, as part of the Manitoba Film Training Expo. Music Supervision for Producers and Music Supervision for Filmmakers both take place on Saturday October 3, put on in partnership between Manitoba Music and Film Training Manitoba. ( (

Philadelphia calling… RoseAnna had the pleasure of taking part in a travel writers’ trip to the city of Philadelphia and surrounding region. The purpose was to explore area attractions for feature story ideas. And run up the Rocky steps. (

If you get this email on a Friday… TGIF! If it’s not Friday… I’m sure you wished it was anyway, so why not just pretend it is. Thus making tomorrow your pretend Saturday. And since Saturday falls on a weekend, that means its okay to take tomorrow off. TGIS!
