WHO CAN BE A MEMBER?
If you’re in Manitoba and building your career in music, whether you’re at the beginning of your journey or working internationally, we have resources, opportunities, and supports available. Membership is for artists, musicians, DJs, songwriters, composers, beatmakers, and session players. Membership is for producers, promoters, labels, marketing and publicity experts, venues, festivals, managers, agents, photographers, media, service providers, and more.
Folks who are originally from Manitoba but not currently living in the province may be eligible for membership but some programming may be available only to current residents. Find out more about residency requirements for membership
HOW MUCH IS MEMBERSHIP?
Individual | $50
For solo artists and small/single proprietorship music companies working in the Manitoba music community at any stage in their career. Includes one voting member with full access to membership benefits.
Band/Group | $75
For bands and small music companies working in the Manitoba music community at any stage in their career. Including two voting members with full access to membership benefits. Additional voting members can be added for $25 per person.
Corporate | $200
For larger music companies with three or more staff. Including two voting members with full access to membership benefits. Additional voting members can be added for $25 per person.
Youth | $35
Non-voting membership for solo artists and aspiring music workers who are under 18.
Youth Band | $50
Non-voting membership for bands with the majority of members who are under 18.

CAREER CONSULTATIONS & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Our workshops and professional development program can help you with all aspects of the music business, from management to marketing and touring to taxes. Manitoba Music presents workshops featuring international panelists discussing the top music industry issues of the day, workshops and successful local artists and industry professionals, and one-on-one consultations with our experienced and knowledgeable staff. We help with funding applications, assist with marketing development, offer advice on career development, and provide countless opportunities to learn the business of music. PROFILE PAGE
Every Manitoba Music member gets a profile page and it can be a great tool for promoting your music business and events if you keep it updated with content. Our site has traffic from over 12,000 users every month and whether it’s live music listings, news stories, new releases, online artist and industry directories, Song of the Week, everything drives those users to profile pages. Members can also have free additional profiles for their side projects, other activities, and other bands they’re involved in. Find out more about getting the most from your profile page
PROMOTIONAL & AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
We have a number of opportunities to help amplify the hard work of local music makers that members can engage with. Some opportunities have an application and selection process, and some are open to all.
New Releases | When you’re releasing new music, there are a number of promotional opportunities you may be able to access. Find out more about promoting a new release
Spotify Playlist | Have some new music on Spotify? Send an email with a link to your song to info@manitobamusic.com for consideration.
Song of the Week | This is our promotional tool to highlight individual artists and events. Members can request spots on a first-come, first-served basis. Spots can book up 1-3 months in advance, so if you have a new release or upcoming event, let us know at info@manitobamusic.com.
Spotlight Series | A series of interviews with up-and-coming local music makers. In each profile, an artist or rep from a music company will be featured in an interview by a local music writer and shared on the Manitoba Music site and socials. Signal Boost | Weekly roundup of local music media coverage. Signal Boost is posted on Fridays. Have some media coverage you want included? Send a link to the online article to signalboost@manitobamusic.com.
Open Mic Night | Third Tuesday of the month at The Handsome Daughter. Come down to the free shows to meet other artists or signup up to share a song or two. Keep an eye on www.manitobamusic.com/openmicnight

WESTERN CANADIAN MUSIC ALLIANCE MEMBERSHIP
All Manitoba Music members gain automatic membership with the Western Canadian Music Alliance which includes a discount on submissions for the BreakOut West Festival and the Western Canadian Music Awards, and a vote for the awards.
VOTING RIGHTS
Members are invited to join us at our Annual General Meeting every June and have a vote!
