Cassidy Mann

We’re excited to welcome Cassidy Mann to the Manitoba Music team as Indigenous Music Development Coordinator!

Cassidy (she/her) is an Indigenous artist with over 10 years of experience in the music industry. A member of Sagkeeng First Nation, she is a proud Anishinaabe woman. In 2023, Cassidy worked as a booking coordinator for Real Love Winnipeg/First Date Touring, where she organized and ran local shows in Winnipeg and helped coordinate international tours for artists on First Date’s roster. In 2020, driven to learn more about music production and the industry, Cassidy graduated with a diploma from Metalworks Institute in Mississauga, ON where she studied music business, audio production, and engineering. Throughout her time studying, Cassidy interned at Indie Music Week Canada, coordinating bi-weekly workshops and shows for local artists and industry members in Toronto. As a musician, she has toured internationally, earned two Western Canadian Music Award nominations for Indigenous Recording of the Year, landed a #1 spot on the Indigenous Music Countdown, and has participated in countless songwriting camps and music industry workshops throughout North America.

“I’m so excited and honoured to be joining the incredible team at Manitoba Music,” says Cassidy. “I am looking forward to working with my community to continue building bridges in this role, supporting and championing Indigenous artists and companies as they work to build their careers in music.”

“Cassidy brings deep music industry experience and expertise and a strong passion for creating connections with Indigenous music makers. As a long time participant in IMDP initiatives, she has a profound understanding of the program and respect for the vision and mission behind it, as well as fresh perspective and energy,” says Desiree Dorion, who is President of Manitoba Music’s Board of Directors and a longtime member of the Indigenous Music Steering Committee at Manitoba Music.

“As the Indigenous Music Development Programs celebrates 20 years of delivering impactful programming for First Nation, Inuit, and  Métis music communities, it’s so exciting to welcome a new voice to join the remarkable trailblazers who’ve shaped the program. We’re looking forward to continuing this important work and creating new opportunities for Indigenous artists and companies with Cassidy," says Vanessa Kuzina, Executive Director of Manitoba Music.

Cassidy will start her work with us on March 12. Welcome Cassidy!
