Showcase Opportunity: Aboriginal Artist Showcase in Toronto

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 5pm CST Thursday, October 20, 2011

Manitoba Music’s Aboriginal Music Program is producing an Aboriginal artist showcase for industry professionals, Aboriginal presenters, and Aboriginal media representatives in Toronto during the Canada Aboriginal Music Awards weekend. The showcase will be held at the Rivoli on Thursday, November 17.

We welcome submissions from Aboriginal artists of all musical genres. Preference will be given to artists who have business meetings confirmed with industry professionals in Toronto.

To be considered for a showcase, you must:
• Have a current release (demo / EP / full-length)
• Be available to perform on the evening of November 17, 2011
• Be able to pay for their own travel and accommodations (or access funding to cover the costs)
• Be a Manitoba Music member

Submit by email to alan@manitobamusic.com the following:
• “CAMA showcase submission” in the subject line
• A link to your aboriginalmusic.ca profile page (ensure your profile is updated with current music and artist bio)
• A rationale for how this showcase fits your development plan (approximately 250 words)
• A list of industry professionals you plan to invite to your showcase
• Current high resolution (300 dpi) image or link to where one can be downloaded

Submissions will be evaluated based on:
• Music
• Track record
• Rationale for the showcase
• Business meetings confirmed and industry professionals you plan to invite to the showcase
