Team Rezofficial Hits Number One On MuchMusic’s Rap City
Arbor Record’s rap ensemble Team Rezofficial has hit the top of MuchMusic’s Rap City Urban Video Chart. The video for their single "Lonely" entered at number six on July 13 and has continued a steady climb upwards ever since, reaching the number one slot yesterday. The video was added in medium rotation during the week of July 9, 2008. The video for “Lonely” was directed by Lux, a MuchMusic Video award winner from Toronto. The video was funded by VideoFact and produced by Triton Films in Vancouver, BC.
Team Rezofficial is a family of three real hip hop MCs (Hellnback, Drezus, and Tomislav) and two producers (Jay Mak and Stomp). Stomp and Hellnback are formerly of the group War Party. Hellnback, Stomp, and Jay Mak all hail from the First Nations surrounding Hobbema, Alberta, while Drezus represents Saskatoon and Calgary, and Tomislav is a Winnipeg native.
The single “Lonely’ is featured on their latest release called The World And Everything in It. This represents Team Rezofficial’s fourth release and second full-length CD.
You can expect a Winnipeg show from the boys during their tour across the country in early October.
The 3 MC's in Team Rezofficial are working on their solo projects to be released in the upcoming year. The 2 producers (Jay Mak and Stomp) will be providing the majority of the beats for the solos as well as handling outside work for various artists.
Previous recordings include independent mixtapes, Hard Work and Hustle and Family First, and two successful major label releases; the award-winning full-length The Foundation (Arbor/EMI) and the OST Stryker (Arbor/EMI). Team Rezofficial has had music videos in heavy rotation on MuchMusic, MuchMoreMusic, the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network and Rap City. They were nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award in 2005, and both an Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award (APCMA) and a Canadian Aboriginal Music Award (CAMA) in 2007. The Foundation earned Team Rezofficial a CAMA for Best Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year in 2004.
