Renee Lamoureux

With the release of her brand new album ‘EMPOWER’, award-winning artist Renée Lamoureux is eager to share her best music yet. Nominated for a 2020 Juno for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year, the artist is known to sing about messages that inspire and music that motivates. Renée's sound crosses between a pop-country to folk-easy listening feel. Her voice ranges from soulfully powerful to sweet and gentle- making her sound unique.

Born and raised to a French speaking Metis family in a small town south of Winnipeg, Renée began to explore music taking piano lessons at six years old and discovered her love of singing after her parents bought her a microphone. One day in 5th grade, her teacher assigned the class to write and record a song and perform it to their parents. That day Renée found her love of writing.

Renée’s previous album ‘Dare to be You’ garnered her the winning award for Best Female Artist in 2016 at the Manitoba Music Awards, as well as several nominations. The album was up for two Indigenous Music Awards two consecutive years in a row. Her single ‘Two Step’ hit at #1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown.

Renée has been privileged to travel across the world doing what she loves- sharing her music.  With her former band ‘Keith and Renee’, the duo released six albums, touring across North America over a decade- highlights including touring with major artists such as Jann Arden, Dean Brody, Dallas Smith. Renée was fortunate to contribute her philanthropy work with WE Charity (Free The Children) during a three year span, performing WE Day and in countless schools across Canada- traveling to countries in Africa and Dubai. Her songs have been placed on an AT&T commercial, Degrassi The Next Generation and Degrassi Goes Hollywood.

Now as Renée embarks on a new adventure with her latest body of work 'Empower', already her songs are gaining much attention heavily streaming on platforms. Sirius XM, Stingray Music, CBC and National Indigenous radio stations. In fall 2019, Renée was invited to perform in Australia representing Indigenous Artists of Canada.
