Blues Country Jazz Pop
Orvis is a pop singer/songwriter from Cross Lake, Manitoba. From humble origins listening to Dwight Yoakam and Prairie Oyster on family road trips, to composing progressive pop/rock masterpieces with Manitoba rock-producer royalty, Orvis has been through it all as a musician. Orvis is a veteran of the Selkirk, Manitoba music scene, whose credits on vocals and guitar include Collective Soul tribute Counting The Days, metal band Dead Link, and punk outfit The Cheap Escape among many others.
Orvis’ recorded output spans many different genres and styles, from the Hank Williams-via-Pro-Tools-country of Win Some/Lose Some/Lonesome to the “edgy” pop/rock of Fall To Pieces, but still retains that distinct Orvis heart & soul.
On December 25, 2020 Orvis released all of his previously recorded solo material as a digital download with proceeds going to initiatives to benefit Winnipeg’s homeless. The result is a six-song EP of exquisite pop songs enhanced by creative guitar-work, with performances by several seasoned Winnipeg musicians.
Orvis is currently working on recording singles and an acoustic jazz album at Studio 23 in St. Anne, Manitoba with producer/engineer Jody Hunter.
