We're Hiring: MB Live Assistant

We’re looking for someone passionate about the live music scene in Manitoba to coordinate Manitoba Music’s live music listings and support our MB Live brand!

We’d love to connect with a collaborative, organized, and flexible human who loves making new connections with people, being a part of a small dedicated team, and amplifying the exciting work of local artists, venues, festivals, and promoters.

This is a part-time contract position at the equivalent of one day per week. Work is focused on researching the local live music scene and maintaining our online listings postal and concert-finding app, outreach to local live music sector companies and workers, and some content creation.

First Nation Peoples, Métis Peoples, Inuit, Black People, People of Colour, women, LGBTQ2S+, New Canadians, Deaf People, Disabled People, and people who exist at those intersections are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Research and maintain live music listings on Manitoba Music’s website and MB Live app
  • Outreach to venues, promoters, and festivals in Manitoba
  • Assist in content development including graphics design and video editing
  • Assist in the development of MB Live promotional partnerships 
  • Assist with Manitoba Music’s communications, social media, and online resources


Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with the live music sector an asset
  • Proficiency with Google Docs and Sheets, and comfortable in Google Suite environments, and ability to work with Slack, Zoom
  • Capacity to learn Manitoba Music’s cloud-based custom content management system
  • Excellent time-management abilities with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and respond to requests in a timely manner

Terms & Conditions

  • This is a part-time contract position running until March 31, 2025 with opportunity to renew depending on funding.  
  • Work hours will be part-time and flexible at approximately seven hours per week within an agreed schedule, at $443 per month. 
  • Work is based in Manitoba with the flexibility for remote work and opportunities to work from Manitoba Music’s office in Winnipeg
  • Computer and hardware will not be provided.
