Posted on

Deadline: Ongoing for 2022

Indigenous Music is excited to announce a partnership with SOCAN for an opportunity for Indigenous artists to expand their network by collaborating with other Indigenous writers from across Canada.

Every month, three songwriters will be selected from the applicant pool for a co-writing session held online at random from all submissions for Song Camp Monday. Sessions will run from 10AM to 5PM If selected, you will be contacted around two weeks before the session. All applications remain on file for the 2022 calendar year.

This project is the continuation of a successful program from 2021 that included several working songwriters: Brandi Vezina, Brandon Baker, Caley Watts, Ethan Lyric, Ila Barker, Kaeley Jade, Nigel Irwin, NimKish, and Wolf Saga.

To participate in the program, songwriters must:

  • Be willing to work collaboratively and cooperatively
  • Come into the session with an open mind and be open to working across all genres and skill levels
  • Be a SOCAN Member to apply. For more information on becoming a member, please visit http://www.socan.com/join-now/
