Planning to apply for the Canada Council for the Arts’ Explore and Create program? Manitoba Music is launching a grant writing incubator to support! 

The incubator will offer practical support for beginner to intermediate artists and industry professionals or who work with artists in Manitoba who are recording a single, EP, or album for commercial release, or have a project they want to apply for funding from Canada Council for the Arts.

Over three weeks, participants will be guided through the process of writing and applying for funding, with the guidance of experienced mentors. The program will cover application forms, budget, and marketing/project plans.

To participate in the program, applicants must:

  • Be available the evenings of Mondays March 14, 21, and 28 OR Tuesdays March 15, 22, and 29, OR  Wednesdays March 16, 23, and 30 between 1-8PM
  • Be a professional artist or music company based in Manitoba OR a company working with artists based in Manitoba
  • Be recording an upcoming single, EP, or album for commercial release OR recording demos not intended for release OR writing and doing pre-production for an upcoming project OR creating an community project that involved other Indigenous artists, youth or industry
  • Have a sense of a release timeline and rough project plan that is relevant to the March deadline
  • Be eligible to apply for the Explore and Create program https://canadacouncil.ca/funding/grants/explore-and-create

Important Dates:

  • Canada Council Explore and Create Program Info Session: March 2, 2022 (English), and March 3, 2022 (Francais) at 12PM CT
  • Incubator Deadline: March 7, 2022 at 4PM CT
  • Confirmation of Participation: March 11, 2022 at 2PM
  • Mentor Sessions: 3 Mondays March 14, 21, and 28 OR 3 Tuesdays March 15, 22, and 29 OR 3 Wednesdays March 16, 23, and 30
  • Canada Council for the Arts Explore and Create Projects Deadline: April 6, 2022

Accepted participants will be expected to:

  • Watch the Canada Council for the Arts Info Session on March 2nd (Eenglish) or 3rd (Ffrench) at 12 PM  CST via Facebook Live or YouTube
  • Be registered on: the Canada Council for the Arts Portal
  • Create or update an artist CV
  • Have assessment tracks recorded and ready by the grant deadline
  • Start a draft budget
  • Watch the You've Been Selected: How to Submit Stronger Applications by the program start date (recommended)
  • Submit the finalized application by the grant deadline

Vous prévoyez présenter une demande au programme " Explorer et créer " du Conseil des Arts du Canada ? Manitoba Music lance un incubateur de rédaction de demandes de subventions pour vous aider !

L'incubateur offrira un soutien pratique aux artistes débutants à intermédiaires et aux professionnels de l'industrie ou qui travaillent avec des artistes du Manitoba qui enregistrent un single, un EP ou un album en vue d'une sortie commerciale, ou qui ont un projet qu'ils veulent soumettre à une demande de financement auprès du Conseil des Arts du Canada.

Pendant trois semaines, les participants seront guidés dans le processus de rédaction et de demande de financement, avec l'aide de mentors expérimentés. Le programme couvrira les formulaires de demande, le budget et les plans de marketing/projet.

Pour participer au programme, les candidats doivent

  • Être disponibles les soirs des lundis 14, 21 et 28 mars OU les mardis 15, 22 et 29 mars, OU les mercredis 16, 23 et 30 mars entre 1 et 8 heures.
  • Être un artiste professionnel ou une compagnie de musique basée au Manitoba OU une compagnie travaillant avec des artistes basés au Manitoba.
  • Enregistrer un single, un EP ou un album en vue d'un lancement commercial OU enregistrer des démos qui ne sont pas destinées à être lancées sur le marché OU écrire et faire la pré-production d'un projet à venir OU créer un projet communautaire auquel participent d'autres artistes, des jeunes ou l'industrie autochtones.
  • Avoir une idée de l'échéancier de sortie et un plan de projet sommaire en rapport avec la date limite de mars.
  • Être admissible au programme Explorer and créer https://canadacouncil.ca/funding/grants/explore-and-create.

Dates importantes :

  • Séance d'information sur le programme Explore and Create du Conseil des Arts du Canada : Le 2 mars 2022 (anglais) et le 3 mars 2022 (français) à 12h, heure locale.
  • Date limite pour l'incubateur : 7 mars 2022 à 16 h CT
  • Confirmation de la participation : 11 mars 2022 à 14h00
  • Sessions de mentorat : 3 lundis 14, 21 et 28 mars OU 3 mardis 15, 22 et 29 mars OU 3 mercredis 16, 23 et 30 mars.
  • Conseil des Arts du Canada - Projets d'exploration et de création Date limite : 6 avril 2022

Les participants acceptés devront

  • Regarder la séance d'information du Conseil des Arts du Canada le 2 mars (anglais) ou le 3 mars (français) à 12 h HNC via Facebook Live ou YouTube.
  • S'inscrire sur le portail du Conseil des Arts du Canada.
  • Créer ou mettre à jour un CV d'artiste
  • Avoir des pistes d'évaluation enregistrées et prêtes pour la date limite d'attribution des subventions.
  • Commencer une ébauche de budget
  • Regardez la vidéo Vous avez été sélectionné : How to Submit Stronger Applications avant la date de début du programme (recommandé)
  • Soumettez la de mande finalisée avant la date limite de subvention
