Showcase Opportunity: Folk Alliance Spotlight Showcase

EXTENDED DEADLINE: 4PM CT, Monday November 22, 2021

Manitoba Music is teaming up with BreakOut West, SaskMusic, and Alberta Music to present a pre-recorded Spotlight Showcase for Folk Alliance International. This is an opportunity for two acts (solo artists or bands) to perform for and network online a week before the conference with influential music industry professionals from the Canadian and international folk and roots community. This showcase will have a strong focus on gender diversity and BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ voices.

Folk Alliance International is an event for the international folk community to come together for panels, workshops, showcases, affinity and peer group meetings, exhibit spaces, networking, and mentorship.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must:

• Have a current or upcoming release (demo / EP / full-length)
• Be export-ready (able to capitalize on opportunities in Canada and internationally)
• Be a Manitoba Music member and current resident of Manitoba
• Be available for an in-person performance video shoot in early December

Submissions will be evaluated by a jury based on:

• Music
• Rationale for the showcase
• Track record
• Export readiness
