Manitoba Arts Network and Indigenous Music Launch Summer Tour
The Manitoba Arts Network (MAN) has partnered with Indigenous Music on this month's Indigenous Summer Tour, which brings Indigenous musicians to rural and Indigenous communities throughout the province.
This tour provides further opportunities for Indigenous artists emerging in their music careers to gain touring experience. Following their Indigenous Emerging Artist Mentorship in October 2020, and their Indigenous Artists Safe at Home Festival Concert this past March, Indigenous artists Martin Desjarlais, Becky Lou, riel., Kristen Mckay, and Norway Rabliauskas are ready to tour Manitoba with established performing artists Rhonda Head, and Desiree Dorion.
MAN has partnered with Indigenous Music to bring a Presentation and activity with the artists before each concert. Northern tour communities can look forward to a Music Masterclass with artists Norway Rabliauskas, riel., Martin Desjarlais, and Rhonda Head while communities participating in the Southern tour will enjoy a Songwriting Workshop with Becky Lou, Kristen Mckay, and Desiree Dorion.
