AIRsessions Launches New Season of Virtual Music Workshop Series for Youth
Facilitator and curator Ila Barker is launching a new season of AIRsessions virtual music workshops for youth (ages 13-25) in partnership with the National Art Centre, sākihiwē festival, Music for Life Program, Indigenous Family Centre, and Indigenous Music Development Program at Manitoba Music.
Now in its third season, the online community-building, music-based workshop series will feature guest artists in residence who shares their story, craft, and skills alongside lead mentor Barker.
Acclaimed hip hop artist Drezus will be featured for a launch event on February 18, which will stream live on Facebook, free and open for all ages. Find out more at https://fb.me/e/16G8vI81B
Youth can register to learn about the creative processes and share their own music and musical ideas. The workshop will take place in Zoom at 7-8PM CST. Indigenous youth have registration priority and other participants will be accepted if space is available. To register and for more information, please contact Barker at ilabarkermusic@gmail.com.
