Artists from Manitoba Earn Nominations for Indian Summer Music Awards
Two acts from Manitoba have landed nominations for this year's Indian Summer Music Awards (ISMA).
JUNO-winning outfit Eagle & Hawk, which recently launched a 20-year retrospective album, has picked up three nominations in the country, pop, and rock categories for its latest work on "Liberty". The band won two ISMA in 2009 with its tune "Sirensong".
Classical singer Rhonda Head has earned a nomination in the spiritual category for her recording, "Kisahkihitin I Love You". Head has previously been nominated for ISMA in 2014 and 2016, winning in 2014 for her song "How Great Thou Art".
Founded in 2004, ISMA is an annual musical competition run by Indian Summer Festival. ISMA recognizes and promotes the very best in Indigenous music.
