Showcase Opportunity: Manitoba Music at Folk Music Ontario

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 4PM, Thursday, July 30, 2015

We are now taking submissions from artists interested in participating in Manitoba Music showcases at the Folk Music Ontario conference in Toronto, October 15-18, 2015. This is an opportunity to perform for and network with influential music industry professionals from the Canadian and international folk, roots, and traditional music community. The conference includes speakers and seminars, performer showcases, and jam sessions. Approximately 800 delegates attend the conference, including artistic directors, presenters, and provincial, national, and international industry organizations.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must:

• Have a current or upcoming release (demo / EP / full-length)
• Be export-ready (able to capitalize on opportunities in Canada and internationally)
• Have financial capacity to undertake travel and accommodations (Market Access Program support is available, but will not cover full costs)
• Be a Manitoba Music member

To submit:

• Fill out the submissions form manitobamusic.com/submissions
• Update your Manitoba Music profile with:
  • Current music (up to three mp3s – may be selected for Manitoba Music’s streaming playlists)
  • Current high resolution image (300 dpi) uploaded to “Files” section
• Update your Business Profile at manitobamusic.com/members/business-profile (must be logged in)

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

• Music
• Rationale for the showcase
• Track record
• Export readiness
