IsKwé, Desiree Dorion, Federal Lights, Cassidy Mann, and marijosée are part of the unofficial Indigenous artist delegation that's set to showcase at the BreakOut West Music Festival in Winnipeg this weekend. The festival kicks on October 2 and over 70 of Western Canada’s finest performers will be showcasing for over 350 music industry leaders and delegates from all over the world.

All showcases are open to the general public and festival wristbands can be purchased at the Folk Festival Music Store, Music Trader, and at the door of each venue.

Along with the music festival, BreakOut West includes a kick off party with Dan Mangan, an industry conference, an Industry Awards Brunch, a Mini BreakOut West for children, and the 2014 Western Canadian Music Awards (WCMA).

Federal Lights and marijosée are also set to perform at the WCMA Gala, happening October 5 at the Club Regent Event Centre. The Aboriginal Album of the Year nominees include Cassidy Mann, Desiree Dorion, Federal Lights, Head of the Herd, and Inez Jasper. IsKwé is in the running for Electronic/Dance Recording of the Year and marijosée's Pas tout cuit dans l’bec is nominated for Francophone Recording of the Year.
