Manitoba Music is a member-based, not-for-profit industry association representing 750 members in all facets of the music industry. Through our programs and services, we provide information, education, communication, advocacy, industry development, and networking opportunities to nurture, develop and promote the growth and sustainability of the Manitoba music industry.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a passion for the Franco-Manitoban music community to join our fast-paced and dynamic team as Francophone Music Program Coordinator.

PURPOSE & ACCOUNTABILITY
The Francophone Music Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and administering the delivery of Manitoba Music’s Francophone Music Program. Reporting to the Program Manager, the coordinator is responsible to Manitoba Music’s Executive Director, Board of Directors, and to its membership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify professionally-intended Francophone artists and industry across western Canada
  • Assess community needs for professional, business, and market development
  • Research national and international initiatives, industries, and markets
  • Develop a brand and related materials for the program
  • Develop, monitor, and manage the program budget
  • Prepare regular program reports
  • Present information to and develop new relationships with stakeholders
  • Represent Manitoba Music at local, national, and international events
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, based on prescribed activity measures and targets, and through ongoing consultation with program participants and staff
  • Monitor and refine program goals, objectives, and strategies

DESCRIPTION
This is a contract position with an estimated 20 hours per week. Dependant on events and activities, some weeks will require more or less hours. Term ends March 31, 2016. Salary commensurate with experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Fluency in French and English, spoken and written
  • Knowledge of the Franco-Manitoban music community and culture
  • Excellent ability to communicate, network, and establish meaningful relationships
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to efficiently manage multiple projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work flexible hours on occasion, including weekends and evenings

      The following are considered assets:

  • Knowledge of Manitoba’s music industry
  • Previous experience working in a not-for-profit organization
  • Driver’s License and access to a car
  • Ability to translate between French and English
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
