Call for Submissions: Manitoba Aboriginal Artists, Volume 6 | Deadline: May 29

Manitoba Music’s Aboriginal Music Program will release a new promotional music sampler in August 2013. This multi-genre collection will represent new Manitoba releases by export-ready artists of Aboriginal ancestry, and will be targeted to music industry professionals and media in all areas of popular music.

The compilation will be distributed digitally and as a CD to industry professionals and journalists including at music industry conferences and in support of Manitoba Aboriginal Artist export trade missions.

To be eligible to submit, artists must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a history of professional touring
  • Have a strong online presence
  • Be a professional Aboriginal (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) music artist or group
  • Be a current resident of Manitoba
  • Have a current or upcoming professional release (EP/full-length)
  • Have professional promotional material (photos, website, music videos)
  • Be a member of Manitoba Music

To have your track included for consideration, please submit ALL of the following:

  • Mastered CD with selected track clearly indicated (identify the release date)
  • Two high resolution promotional photographs (digital on CD)
  • The following information (use this form):
    • Artist name, song title, songwriting/publishing credit, track length
    • Genre classification (maximum three words)
    • 20-word artist bio (for use in liner notes)
    • Public contact information: name, company, phone, email, website
    • If applicable, label and publisher contact information (as above)
    • Link to your profile on the aboriginalmusic.ca website
  • Completed Grant of Rights form (Right click and save as), or by emailing alan@manitobamusic.com, or similar from the label or publisher)

Email submissions will not be accepted. Submissions will be rejected if incomplete.
