Showcase Opportunity: Managers Showcase

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 4pm CST Thursday, October 13, 2011

Manitoba Music will be presenting a showcase for guest speakers from our upcoming Music Management panel, to be held in conjunction with the Music Managers Forum Canada at Manitoba Music on November 26. The panel includes ‘Parkside’ Mike Renaud, Upper Management (Said the Whale), Nick Blasko, Nick Blasko & Piers Henwood Artist Management (Tegan and Sara, Buck 65), and Andres Mendoza, Cuto Management (Alex Cuba). This showcase event offers Manitoba acts a unique opportunity to perform for and network with influential music industry professionals from outside of Manitoba.

We welcome submissions from artists of all genres. Preference will be given to artists who perform music appropriate for the visiting speakers. Before submitting, we encouraged applicants to research the speakers’ companies and their rosters

To be considered for a showcase, you must:

• Have a current release (demo / EP / full-length)
• Be available to perform on the evening of November 26, 2011
• Be a Manitoba Music member

Submit by email to showcases@manitobamusic.com the following:

• “Manitoba Music Management Showcase” in the subject line
• A link to your manitobamusic.com profile page (ensure your profile is updated with current music and artist bio)
• A rationale for how this showcase fits your development plan (approximately 250 words)
• Description of current team
• Current high resolution (300 dpi) image or link to where one can be downloaded

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

• Music
• Track record
• Strength of team
• Export readiness
• Rationale for the showcase
