Heatbag Records and Hood Hop'rz give back

Posted on

What do carnival games, cotton candy, and hip-hop have in common? You’ll find all three and more at the Light House Community Club on Saturday May 28, part of the neighbourhood clean-up Day of Caring hosted by Hood Hop’rz and Heatbag Records.

Heatbag Records is a local label owned by Jon-C and Charlie Fettah who are also two of the three members of Winnipeg's Most. The hip-hop act received three awards at this year’s Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards. Winnipeg’s Most was also named Best New Band and Best Hip Hop Artist/Group in UPTOWN Magazine's Best of Winnipeg.

There will be ten volunteer groups that will guide kids and parents around the community to help clean up garbage. All garbage bags, gloves and cleaning supplies will be provided. A free breakfast provided as well as an afternoon BBQ. Prizes include a chance to win tickets to a Winnipeg Goldeye's Baseball Game and limo ride.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact Bryan at Hood Hop’rz at 204-219-8024 or visit the facebook event page at https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=112539898830010
