Aboriginal Artists at the Festival du Voyageur

The 2011 Festival Du Voyageur kicks of this Friday on the 18th. Dozens of acts will be performing at different venues and a variety of activities will take place during the annual two week celebration, which marks its 42nd year.

This year Festival du Voyageur will be highlighting several Manitoba Aboriginal acts, including Juno nominated rock group Eagle & Hawk as well as Don Amero, Tracy Bone, the D’Aoust Brothers, Jerry Sereda,  In total there are five Manitoba Aboriginal artists scheduled to entertain what is sure to be large crowds.

Also included are annual participants, internationally known Métis square dancing group the Asham Stompers.

Music happens throughout the day and night at various venues including those at Voyageur Park in St. Boniface. For more information about Festival Du Voyageur visit festivalvoyageur.mb.ca/wp/.
