Manitoba at the 2010 Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards
Eagle & Hawk, Desiree Dorion, the Skelpa Squad, and Jesse Green are making their way to Hamilton this weekend for the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards (CAMA). The 12th annual award show is set for Friday, November 26 at the Hamilton Place Theatre.
Eagle & Hawk and Desiree Dorion are set to perform for the in-house audience on Friday night along with anyone with an internet connection; the award show will be broadcasted online at www.canab.com.
The Skelpa Squad will be performing after the CAMAs are handed out. They’re one of the five acts taking the stage for a Redskin Magazine event at the Corktown Pub in downtown Hamilton on November 26.
Eagle & Hawk earned five nominations at the CAMAs this year for its latest album, entitled The Great Unknown. The Skelpa Squad is up for Best Rap or Hip Hop Album and Best Rap or Hip Hop Music Video. Desiree Dorion has a chance to win Best Female Artist and Best Country Album. Al Desjarlais is nominated for Best Country Album and Brad Moggie is in the running for Best Fiddle Album.
