Festival du Voyageur Celebrates Manitoba Music Night

Posted on

Not sure how good it is for dog-sledding but the balmy weather makes outdoor concerts just a bit nicer. Which is a good thing because February 19 is Manitoba Music Night at Festival du Voyageur...

The inaugural Manitoba Music Night  will feature a concert with singer/songwriter Dominique Reynolds, rock outfit Eagle & Hawk, and Francophone popster Daniel ROA at the Pambian Trading Post. A special $20 package ticket offer is available, which includes park admission, the concert , a traditional French Canadian meal served buffet-style at 5:30pm and 6:30pm, and a guided touring of Voyageur Park. Groups of 10 or more people receive a 10% discount. To get a package or make a group reservation, call 204.237.7692 or email packages@festivalvoyageur.mb.ca.

Manitoba Music Night is just one of many concerts festival-goers can catch during the 2010 celebrations. The 10-day event, which kicked off last week, includes performances by 103 musical acts, many of which hail from Manitoba. The festival has built a reputation for booking diverse acts covering just about every genre imaginable, from traditional fiddle music to Aboriginal hand drum music to R&B and rock bands. This year's performers include: Doc Walker, Sierra Noble, Kraink, Don Amero, Dust Rhinos, Ya Ketchose, Jaylene Johnson, Deuxième Take, Jerry SeredaMadame Diva, Johnny Cajun, Lulu et le Matou, J.P. Hoe, Quinzy, Justin Lacroix Band, The F-Holes, Oh My Darling, The Dusty Roads Band, Sons of York, The Liptonians, and many (many) more.

Music happens throughout the day and night at various venues including those at Voyageur Park in St. Boniface. Click here to see the full concert schedule.
