Two hometown acts are bringing home some important American Aboriginal music award this month. Juno-winning act Eagle & Hawk won Indian Summer Music Awards (ISMA) for Alternative Rock and Classic Rock for its album Life Is... Singer Kimberley Dawn also picked up a trophy in the Country category for her album I’m Going Home.

Eagle & Hawk won for Alternative Rock in 2004 for its acclaimed album Mother Earth and again in 2005 for The Red. The band was also nominated in the Contemporary Instrumental category this year.

The ISMA winners were announced at an awards ceremony during the Indian Summer Festival (ISF) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 9, 2006.
The ISF is a three-day event – considered the largest Aboriginal festival in North America – which hosts both the Indian Summer Festival Image Awards and the ISMA.

Eagle & Hawk, Kimberley Dawn, along with other local acts C-Weed and Jay Ross, all traveled to Milwaukee to play the festival’s main stage.
