The fall colours sure are beautiful right now in Manitoba! If you haven’t gotten outside to see them yet, make sure you do before all the leaves hit the ground. And since that won’t be long now, get out and enjoy the view while you still can!

Todd & The Book Of Pure Evil is a purely evil and fantastically fun television series shot in Winnipeg earlier this year. The show premiered this week on SPACE, and has been receiving rave reviews. Watch it Wednesday nights at 9:00pm ET. You can also find more info and some entertaining clips online. (Note: the program is intended for an adult audience, so viewer discretion IS advised! Don’t say I didn’t warn you…) www.toddandthebookofpureevil.com

It seems like only yesterday production wrapped in Winnipeg on Men With Brooms – and already it’s ready to be seen! The comedy series is produced by Frantic Films, Serendipity Point Films and E1 Entertainment, and inspired by the popular Canadian movie of the same name. The first episode premieres at 8:00pm on Monday October 4 on CBC Television. Check it out!

Don Amero is releasing his long-awaited third album this fall, and heading out on tour across Canada starting October 1 in Brandon. Called The Long Way Home, Don’s album might surprise some of his current fans because of its unexpected country-flavoured sound. Country radio is already taking notice, and beginning to add the first single Right Where I Wanna Be to their playlists. www.donamero.com

The 5th annual Manito Ahbee Festival takes place November 3 to 7 in Winnipeg, and tickets are now on sale for all events. The third season of Cashing In just wrapped production in Winnipeg and around Manitoba. The APTN drama exposes the high-stakes, winner-takes-all world of First Nations gaming. Set on the fictional Stonewalker First Nation in Southern Manitoba, at the successful North Beach Casino gaming facility Cashing In is jam-packed with sharp executives, smooth dealers and rising stars – resulting in plenty of sex, money and power. HATS OFF TO…

Gemini Award nominees… Manitoba productions received 22 Gemini Award nominations this year, including projects that RAS Creative had the pleasure of working on. Keep Your Head Up Kid: The Don Cherry Story and Less Than Kind are both awesome made-in-Manitoba productions! Congrats to everyone involved.

Local newscasts get noticed, too… CBC News: Winnipeg also received Gemini nominations this year, including one for our friend Sheila North-Wilson, who is being recognized for Best Breaking Reportage. Congratulations CBC (and Sheila!).

We don’t want to let this one go… On Screen Executive Director Tara Walker recently announced her resignation from the organization after 11 dedicated years. While we are happy for her in pursuing her MBA and new opportunities, we are very sad to see her go. Good luck Tara! You will be missed by an entire industry.
