After 91 submissions, including over 150 recorded songs, the 25 lucky amateur Aboriginal contestants for the 2006 NCI Jam have been announced. The annual talent contest is now in its 20th year and still going strong. “The Jam is a dream come true,” says NCI’s General Manager, David McLeod. “Sold out show, world class theatre and adoring fans... it highlights the power and connection that music has with Aboriginal people.” The NCI Jam will be held at the Centennial Concert Hall on Saturday, September 2. Along with performances by each of the 25 contestants, legends like Ray St. Germain and Clint Dutiaume will also take the stage. The NCI Jam always sells out, so be sure to get your tickets now. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
