Kates Outlaw

About

Kates Outlaw is a country rock band based in Dauphin, Manitoba . Formed in 2015, Kates Outlaw began from nothing more than a common interest in simple living, motorcycles and music. Having all members of the band being able to bring their personal influences from a wide variety of different musical genres, they decided to get together and play some tunes. It didn’t take long to go from jam sessions into practices for some local shows within the surrounding communities.  With the overwhelming positive feedback and push from local listeners. this garage-style cover band started taking interest in making their own music.

Growing up in the rural Parkland region of Manitoba, where they still call home. their similar background makes their music cohesive and the common understanding between its members brings the music together naturally. Kyle Neault, the frontman of the band does lead vocals and rhythm guitar. he has most of Kates Outlaws’ original songs written under his belt with his ability to tell a story within a memorable melody. Dylan Neault plays bass and backup vocals. He also has a knack for turning cowboy poetry into a song. His ability for high harmonies can bend the chorus of a song and bring a warmth and fullness to it. Levi Winters is on lead guitar and backup vocals. His harmonic fills and perfectly fitting solos are his specialty. Levi grasps to fit a tasteful distorted lick into any place possible adding the perfect amount of edge to each song. Rounding out the group is Steve Lukey. a hard hitting drummer with a heavy foot and unique approach to the trade making sure the music is both heard and felt .

Kates Outlaw has put on many miles on the prairies. Playing large festivals annually, such as Dauphin's Countryfest, Rockin The Fields Of Minnedosa, The Red River Ex, and many other social events. Highlights of the bands career would include opening for The Glorious Sons in 2017, playing alongside The Trews and The Arklells at Rockin’ the Fields of Minnedosa , an opening set in support of Doc Walker and Jason McCoy in Yorkton, SK, and playing to a very enthusiastic crowd at Dauphin's Countryfest in 2024

Good things come in time and a few years of set-backs and other priorities getting in the way, the band released their first single, Longrider Religion, in June 2024, followed up by Buffalo Runner in July 2024.
