Jade Turner at the AMP Sessions video shoot at Bedside Studios

Our AMP Sessions video series is back with a new one from Jade Turner, produced and directed by Chris Gaudry. Jade Turner is a Canadian country artist and Red Seal Millwright from Misipawistik Cree Nation, located on the northwestern shore of Lake Winnipeg where the Saskatchewan River enters the lake. Her lyrics are created from her life in the north and her second album North Country, released in February 2017 and available on iTunes/Spotify/CD Baby/Apple Music/Soundcloud, pays tribute to campfires, fishing, and northern lights. Turner’s first album, Thanks to You, earned her Indigenous Music Awards (IMA) nominations for Best Country CD and Best New Artist and she took home the Most Outstanding Manitoban Award. Her singles have also topped the national Indigenous Music Countdown and she's landed IMA nods this year for Best Country Album and Best Music Video at the Indigenous Music Awards and a Western Canadian Music Award nomination for Indigenous Artist of the Year.

AMP Sessions is a series of live performance videos presented by Manitoba Music featuring new music from First Nation, Métis, and Inuit recording artists from Manitoba, filmed at Winnipeg's Bedside Studios. Watch all the AMP Sessions videos at aboriginalmusic.ca/videos
