Sirensong has earned Manitoba’s Eagle & Hawk some new hardware. The Juno-winning rock act picked up two awards for its latest recording at the 2009 Indian Summer Music Awards, in the Alternative Rock and Classic Rock categories. Winners were announced at the September 12 awards show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Sirensong has already earned Eagle & Hawk several nominations, including the Western Canadian Music Awards, Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards, and the Native American Music Awards.

Eagle & Hawk was on hand to accept the award and also performed at the festival.

The Indian Summer Music Awards ran alongside the 23rd Annual Indian Summer Festival in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Lake Michigan’s waterfront September 11-13. The festival is marketed as the largest American Indian cultural event in the North America and reportedly draws close to 70,000 people each year.
